RBM-109a | Te Deum TTBB

Te Deum
RBM-109a
TTTB chorus with Piano or Brass and Percussion or Full Orchestra

This work was commissioned in 1996 by the Palmetto Mastersingers of Columbia, SC and was premiered there by that ensemble in 1997. Having been created for this male-voice chorus, the TTBB voicing with brass and percussion is the original incarnation of this composition. Structurally, the piece is a neo-Baroque setting of the traditional, liturgical Latin text in 5 movements.

Some years hence, the composer was asked to create a full orchestral arrangement of the piece for SATB, rather than male, chorus. This version was first performed by the chorus of La maîtrise Saint-Léonard in Fougères, France, under the baton of eminent conductor Alain Nogrix.

Either voicing of this work may be performed using the full orchestral or the brass and percussion version of this work. The full orchestral accompaniment is available on a rental-only basis, while the brass and percussion accompaniment is available for purchase [RBM-203].
