This composition is a fanfare-like setting of the Matthew 26:1 ESV Biblical passage:
“Hosanna to the Son of David.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.”

The work is structured as an “arch” form: exultant, rhythmic passages for instruments and voices to begin and conclude, with a passage of more lyrical and sustained character embedded within. The text would suggest compatibility for inclusion in an Easter service as well as for Palm Sunday.
